Mission Statement

This statement outlines the services that children, parents/carers and the community can expect from our Club, and the values that inform our work:

Our Club aims to:

  • Provide a happy, safe, warm and stimulating environment for all children to play, learn and develop freely.
  • Help children to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and to become competent, confident, independent and co-operative individuals.
  • Encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for both themselves and other people.
  • Promote a positive relationship with parents/carers and work in partnership with them to provide high quality play and care for their children.
  • Offer inclusive services that are accessible to all children from St. Johns and other schools in the local community.
  • Undergo regular monitoring and evaluation of our services to ensure that the Club continues to meet the needs of children and parents/carers.

Our Club is committed to meeting the needs of parents and carers by:

  • Listening and responding to their views and concerns.
  • Keeping them informed of our policies and procedures, including opening times, fees and charges, and programmes of activities.
  • Sharing and discussing their child’s achievements, experiences, progress and friendships, along with any difficulties that may arise.

Our Club is committed to providing:

  • Care and activities that put the needs and safety children first.
  • A programme of activities that is interesting, educational, stimulating and fun.
  • Activities that promote each child’s social, physical, moral and intellectual development.
  • Access to a variety of facilities and equipment under safe and supervised conditions.
  • A staff team that is experienced, well trained and properly supported.
  • Services that meet the conditions of the Children’s Act 1989 and all other relevant childcare legislation, wherever they apply.
  • An environment where no child is bullied or suffers discrimination in any form

Payment Policy

  • The level of fees will be set by the committee and reviewed annually in the light of the Club’s financial position, its future strategic plans and any other broader economic or social considerations deemed relevant
  • Payment will be required in advance, with an invoice being sent to parents/carers every half-term. If the invoice is not paid in full by the due date then an additional fee may be applied.
  • Additional sessions should be paid for when they are taken, or as soon as possible afterwards.
  • Sessions that have been paid for can be rearranged or cancelled without cost as long as at least 24 hours notice is provided. Normally any credits outstanding will be carried forward to the next invoice.
  • If any parents/guardians fail to make payments in accordance with this policy then a letter will be sent to them stating the outstanding amount. After one week from the date on this letter, if payment in full has still not been received, the Victory Club staff will stop collecting the child(ren) from school. Membership of Victory Club can be reinstated at any time by settling the outstanding balance in full.
  • Please note that if a cheque fails to clear then this will be deemed as non payment and treated as above.
  • If two letters are received within a school year then payment in advance will be required before the children will be accepted at the club.
  • If parents/guardians are not able to pay the full amount by the due date, please see the manager or treasurer in order to discuss alternative payment options as a one-off arrangement.
  • Please note that it is the parents’/guardians’ responsibility to make the payments and the manager will not chase payments.

Administering Medication

Medication will never be given without the prior written request of the parent/carer and a written and signed instruction from the child’s GP, including frequency, dosage, any potential side effects and any other pertinent information.
