After School Club

Staff Ratios

A ratio of at least 1:8 will be maintained at all times. There are always at least 2 staff. The play workers have relevant experience and qualifications in play work and are supported in further training as appropriate.

Regular meetings take place between the staff to plan activities and all staff will ensure throughout that the children are in a safe, stimulating and happy environment during their time at the club.

All Play Workers and the Committee Members are checked through the Criminal Record Bureau.

Snack

Children will be given a light healthy snack upon arrival at the club that will include fresh fruit. Water and high juice squash is offered.

This is a snack and is not intended to replace an evening meal. Please indicate on the registration form if your child has and particular dietary requirements.

Activities

The emphasis of the club is informal, offering both individual and group activities, which allows the children freedom of choice, and encouragement of growth.

The children will be able to choose which activities they want to do, which may include craft work, games, sports, cooking, reading, puzzles, quiet corner, music, homework etc. Any innovative suggestions about activities from parents would be welcomed.
